Keepsake cakes

Our search for your hand-me-down recipes is over. Here we share our favourites, baked and photographed by our food contributor Catherine Frawley, who gives her own verdict on them – and couldn't resist sharing one of her own

We asked you to share the ‘keepers’ among your cake recipes. Those tried-and-tested favourites that have been passed on to you. Maybe you've tweaked them along the way, but whenever they're baked and brought out of the tin, they bring smiles to the faces of those in the know. Many of you responded with recipes and heart-warming stories of how they came to you.
