The commute from bedroom to desk takes seconds and can be done in your pyjamas. Household chores can be fitted in between bursts of enterprise and written off as screenbreaks. Tasks can be accommodated around the children’s activities. The fridge with all its tasty treats is moments away. Your cat feels loved. The downsides are the distractions: the call of the fridge becomes incessant; chores nibble into allocated work time; the demands of children become unignorable; the cat makes an uninvited appearance on video conferences.
