IMBOLC A curious feeling creeps over me at this time of the year. I’ve been content to cocoon myself in the house for months – ideally under a duvet with a bowl of soup and Netflix – but suddenly something changes. Maybe it’s a fleeting lick of sunshine, or a few brave crocus shoots appearing from cold earth, but the outside beckons again and I get the urge to sow, and begin the allotment year in earnest. Someone once told me: “You’re feeling Imbolcy”, and this – though not entirely a correct term – was my introduction to the festival of Imbolc.
