Beside the seaside

A WALK ALONG A BLUSTERY SEAFRONT, FOLLOWED BY A WARMING MEAL WITH FRIENDS, IS JUST THE TICKET AT THE END OF WINTER

The seaside isn't just for summer – head to the coast for a stroll along a promenade to blow away the cobwebs and work up an appetite for a winter dinner when you return. It may be chilly outside, but layer up against the elements, stuff your pockets with snacks and pack a flask and some mugs, so you can sit on a bench nibbling on granola and sipping on a hot toddy while looking out to the rolling sea (think The French Lieutenant's Woman, rather than salty sailor) before heading back to a warm, cosy home and a comforting meal.
