The instruction from the boat's skipper was, “Lie quietly on the surface, don't try to approach them, just wait until they come to you.” Once in the water, I could see large boulders below me and kelp fronds swishing back and forth with the light swell. The movement was making me feel slightly nauseous, and soon, I felt I was beingwatched. I rolled over as smoothly as possible, just in time to see a young seal playing peek-a-boo behind my fins.
