Take five pillowcases (matching is lovely but as long as they're the same size, it doesn't matter) and get the sewing machine out. Lay two pillowcases on top of each other with ‘open’ ends at the same side and machine-stitch along one of the long edges to attach them to each other, approx ⅜ of an inch into the fabric. Do the same with another pair. Using the same technique, stitch the two pairs together, so you have a line of four, all with openings on the same side.
