Picture yourself on holiday. It’s warm and sunny, and you’re lounging somewhere comfy with a beautiful view. There’s a cool drink by your side and… dammit, you’ve left your book on the bedside table. What do you do next? Hands up if you become fidgety, eventually flouncing off to retrieve your paperback or digital reading device. You may as well grab your smartphone and headphones, too, for good measure. What was so unbearable about the thought of just lying there, drifting off into a daydream? Boring, you say? Perhaps that would have been a good thing.
