There are kits to make this 'camera-less photography' more accessible, but it's possible to make your own. Don gloves and an apron and use newspaper to cover surfaces either way. A light-sensitive solution is the essential – usually made from a mix of Ferric Ammonium Citrate and Potassium Ferricyanide with water – the iron is what creates the distinctive blue colour. A foam sponge brush helps apply the solution to paper or unbleached fabric. To make a print, you'll need a negative or a flattish object (such as leaves) to press on to your surface – then direct light, tongs and a tray of cold water for developing.…
