Filled to the brim with restored furniture picked up anywhere from junk shops to zoos, plants flourishing in the light-filled rooms and unique finds scattered throughout, Nathalie Posson and Pieter Hemerijckx’s Antwerp home is a haven for unloved items given a new lease of life. However, it’s not just the interiors, but the building itself that’s packed with history and quirks. Originally a carpet cleaning factory, the couple found the building by accident when they bumped into an architect with big plans for a communal way of living. “After a two-year backpacking trip, we took a break in Belgium where we met Filip Mathieu,” explains Nathalie. “He’d found a building in Borgerhout that he wanted to convert into two residential units.
