Building better
Following a global poll, Lego has announced it’s removing any gender bias from its iconic bricks, building kits and advertising. The report, conducted by the Geena Davis Institute, found that girls are often confident to engage in all types of play and creative activities, but remain held back by society’s ingrained gender stereotypes.

The natterjack toad is endangered, but a key habitat on the 20km-long Sefton Coast dune system, which stretches from Liverpool to Southport, is set to grow. The National Trust plans to restore a two-hectare wildlife deadzone in the dunes known as ‘the tobacco cliffs’, giving the 40% of the UK’s natterjack population living there, a bigger home.
