Throwing shapes Pottery made to be used every day ➛ Salisbury-based ceramicist Rachel Gray crafts stoneware ceramics to be used daily, enhancing everything from morning coffee to family suppers. Rachel’s work blends traditional techniques with a contemporary fresh edge. “At the moment, I’m enjoying making my wave design mugs and bowls, finding a fresh way to interpret simple designs such as brushstrokes or stripes can be a challenge,” explains Rachel. “I aim to keep the joy of making in every piece, which retains the marks, making it unique.” Rachel originally studied textiles before starting to make wheel-thrown pottery from her home a few years ago.
