Davies has appreciated Coventry’s support during his injury lay-off and is targeting a return before the end of the season.
He told The Rugby Paper: “I’ve had surgery and looking to be back in the next couple of months. My recovery has been pretty full on. I’ve had injuries at university but it’s not as supervised constantly and there’s a lot of organisation that goes into my structure in the day.
“They’re all on the same page here which helps as when I go into the gym, the S&C coach knows what I’ve done already as they’ve read my programme. I really enjoyed the four games I played for Cov. The game I got injured in against Leicester Tigers was an awesome experience and an opportunity I’ve always wanted. Coming from university, the crowds can be quite hostile but here the crowds are very supportive.”
It’s deja vu for Davies as he also broke his leg while playing BUCS Super Rugby for Cardiff Met.
He was able to put that behind him when he did return to action, revelling inside Danny Milton’s renowned setup.
He added: “It was brilliant. I was late coming into the high performance group, around two months in. I worked my way up through the Championship side and into the BUCS team but I spent nearly the whole second year injured with a broken leg. Then I had a really good first year back playing for the BUCS team.
