Scotsman at Locomotion

Famous‘A3’to offer rides and cab visits in County Durham this month.

LOCOMOTION at Shildon is hosting a six-week summer festival, which includes a four-week visit from‘A3’No. 60103 Flying Scotsman. The Pacific was due to be at the National Collection’s County Durham rail venue from July 20 until August 18, with the wider festival being held until September 1. Flying Scotsman steam rides are available to book, including a cab ride experience, the chance to ride in a brake van hauled by the 4-6-2 and behind-the-scenes tours of the support coach. Steam rides with a replica of the seminal Stephenson’s Rocket or an‘08’diesel shunter will also run, as well as an opportunity to view Flying Scotsman on static display and climb aboard the cab.
