THE TONE CURVE is probably one of the more powerful tools within Lightroom. Not only can it be used to adjust the exposure of specific areas of your image individually, but it can increase or decrease contrast, as well as fine-tune the colours and tones present in your shots. The version of Lightroom that you’re using will dictate exactly how far you can go using the Tone Curve. Users of Lightroom 3 are restricted to only being able to adjust the RGB channel as a whole, enabling them to tweak exposure and contrast but not colour.
