I OPENED THE ENVELOPE thatheld the glossy edition of Country Christmas Ideas. Jackie Woods’s Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, home was featured on the cover. Perfect. I had written the story, and I was proud. Jackie was known as the Christmas Lady. She worked year-round to transform her home into a winter wonderland, welcoming family and friends and even strangers to celebrate. It was all done on a dime and with a fabulous imagination.
But when I turned to the eight-page feature my delight turned to panic. The credits read “Jackie Jones.” Who at the editorial office had made this mistake?
