NOT MANY THINGS in my curio cabinet were very fancy. So when I glanced over at it from my comfy chair by the window, my eye naturally fell on the one item that really was valuable: a small crystal bowl with tiny glass beads around the edges. It was given to me years ago by an elderly lady at the church where I worked as secretary. I’d never seen anything else like it, and brought it out only once a year to use on my Christmas table.
