WHEN IT came to Vincent Iorio’s first year of pro hockey, things couldn’t have gone any better. Not only did the two-way defenseman win a Calder Cup with the AHL’s Hershey Bears, but he also gained valuable experience off the ice, living with youngsters Hendrix Lapierre and Henry Rybinski.
“It was almost a bit of a competition, who could cook the better food, who did their laundry first,” Iorio said. “Having those two around was super beneficial for me because we’re all competitive and want to be better. When you have iron sharpening iron, it’ll push you pretty hard.”
