BDSTON BRUINS THE MACHINE JUST KEEPS on chugging in Boston. Despite losing captain and future Hall of Fame center Patrice Bergeron and second-line center David Krejci to retirement last summer, the Bruins were once again Presidents’ Trophy contenders at the season’s halfway point. While Charlie Coyle and Pavel Zacha have filled in admirably in the top-six center roles vacated by Bergeron and Krejci, another proven top-line pivot would be an attractive addition. Similarly, while James van Riemsdyk (27 points in 40 games) has considerably outperformed his $1-million AAV, another middle-six winger would be nice. So, too, would a depth defenseman.
