BOSTON BRUINS FEW OBSERVERS WERE EXPECTING miracles from the 2024-25 iteration of the Bruins, but even fewer saw this level of mediocrity. Could it be that we are witnessing the demise of a perennial playoff contender and their window slamming shut in real time? It’s certainly looking that way, so any notion that the Bruins would trade futures – as in their first-round draft pick – for immediate help in finding a No. 1 center who could improve their playoff chances is a long shot.
