First-rounders Leo Carlsson, Mason McTavish, Trevor Zegras and Pavel Mintyukov have seized NHL roster spots, and Anaheim turned Jamie Drysdale into Cutter Gauthier via trade. These prime prospects have yet to become NHL stars, but GM Pat Verbeek has tremendous leeway from ownership to wait for this promising foundation to solidify into something concrete.
