WHEN IT COMES TO NHL arena gimmicks, none are as powerful as the cannon wielded by the Blue Jackets. It strikes fear into the hearts of visiting media members while delighting fans. So, with Columbus playing in its first outdoor game – at Ohio Stadium on March 1 – the cannon had to be front and center. The Blue Jackets’ kit for the Stadium Series game against Detroit is strong, with the cannon crest dominating. The color scheme is solid, and the big numbers are functional (so fans can see them from further away when outdoors) and aesthetically pleasing. Using a geographic outline of Ohio around the ‘C’ and ‘A’ is also a nice touch.…
