PREDICTION | 4TH IN ATLANTIC HAVING PUT A DECADE OF futility behind them, the expectation in Buffalo is for the Sabres to end their NHL-record 12-year post-season drought. In falling one win shy of the playoffs last season, they showcased more growth and proved they can be a contender in the crowded Atlantic Division. The Sabres’ 91-point finish was their best since 2010-11, their last playoff campaign. Barely two years ago, they hit rock bottom, winning just 15 of 56 games. But GM Kevyn Adams has rebuilt the Sabres into one of the league’s youngest and fastest clubs. Last season, they scored 293 goals, the NHL’s third-highest total.
