Kelly and Guy Zaal relocated to Colombia six years ago when they fell in love with the Caribbean coast. Kelly is from the Netherlands, while Guy is from the UK, and their two sons Bodhi, five and Unai, two were born in the jungle

“I run YAY Sustainable, an ecological hotel and retreat centre,” explains Kelly. “Guy runs a hostel and foundation that organises activities for kids of the local community. We fell in love with this special place. The indigenous tribes call it: 'the heart of the world”. The nature is so ancient, so pure and still intact. Many river streams come from the snowy mountains of the Sierra Nevada, and flow down to the Caribbean beaches. You find waterfalls and so much wild nature around those rivers. I feel that my purpose here is to contribute towards protecting mother nature for our future generations. Many of us have lost our connection with the earth.
