Trek the coast... and raise money!

Trek the coast... and raise money!
As one of the oldest charities in the North East, and being based in Newcastle city centre, we have strong local values and it's moments like the win from Newcastle United that remind us what an incredible region we're part of - and it's an honour to share that passion with so many.
And it wasn’t just the match that had us in high spirits this week... we felt that the Carabao Cup win was the perfect time to release the date for our annual Question of Sport formal quiz and dinner! This is one of our most well-attended events and is always a great night out.
Taking place on Thursday, November 20, at the Grand Hotel, Gosforth Park, Question of Sport tests even the biggest sporting buffs! Guests enjoy a drinks reception, a delicious three-course meal, a full interactive quiz and games, raffles and prizes in between! It’s a brilliant evening for clients, employees and it's a great networking experience to meet individuals from local businesses.
Tickets cost £95 per person or £900 for a table (based on a table of 10). To reserve a table at the first and best sports quiz in the North East, please contact hello@thesunshinefund.org.

As part of their sponsorship, and thanks to their generosity, we have saved on operational costs, meaning that participants have the flexibility to set their own fundraising target, making the event more accessible for all budgets.
Much like our charity, the trek’s route is brimming with history and even has a royal connection. We're taking things back to our roots and this event is a nod to the Sunshine Fund's origins - back in 1928, upon his visit to Newcastle for the official opening of the Tyne Bridge, King George V donated £15 (equivalent to nearly £800 today) to take disadvantaged kids on a trip to the seaside. The Editor of the Chronicle at the time decided to continue this philanthropic mission and, almost 100 years later, we're still here, working continuously to improve the lives of our local children.
So, what's on the route? Boasting some of the country’s finest coastline and castles, we will be exploring a number of local landmarks, including:
* Craster - famed for its historic smokehouse and their Craster Kippers, which are loved worldwide.
* Du...
