With Hall only out of hospital in recent days, following surgery on his left foot, he enjoyed the 2-1 win from home rather than travelling with the squad to the capital.
However, Hall's Newcastle team-mates ensured he did not miss out, FaceTiming the defender from inside the United dressing room at full-time. Jamaal Lascelles was the man responsible for taking the youngster on a guided tour of the post-match festivities through his phone screen, with Jacob Murphy sharing an image of the gesture on his social media.
"Everybody played a part," striker Callum Wilson told reporters before leaving Wembley on Sunday evening. "Even the players in the earlier rounds who got us here. Unfortunately, Lewis Hall, a great player for us this season, didn’t get to share the occasion but we did it for the fans."
Many believed Hall had in fact been a part of the United celebrations on the pitch at full-time after supporters spotted a hooded member of the Newcastle bench hobbling onto the turf after the full-time whistle.
However, this was actually member of United’s backroom staff, who was wearing a moon boot on his right leg, while Hall has had surgery on his left ankle.
