Bennett, the former Black Cats' centre-back, has stated there has been an undeniable drop-off in the Black Cats' recent performances since the exit of Dodds to take over at Wycombe Wanderers.
Dodds' last game alongside Le Bris came against Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium, with Sunderland winning 3-2 before his departure to manage the League One side.
Defeats against Leeds United, Hull City and Coventry City have followed, as well as wins over Sheffield Wednesday, Cardiff City and Luton Town and draws with Preston and Watford.
That could just be considered the normal run of things during a league season and Dodds oversaw a poor end of season in charge last season at Sunderland.
Nevertheless, Bennett said: "You know, and again, you talk about the coach. He's [Le Bris] had a fantastic season, you know, and when things get tough, the tough get going. And sometimes Regis Le Bris is maybe looking around, and he's looking around for that little bit of experience.
