This month, we share a delicious single-serve chocolate cake, made in a mug and cooked in a flash in the microwave.
Cake of the month MICROWAVE MUG CAKE
Warm chocolate mug cake SERVES 1 PREP AND COOK TIME 5 MINUTES ¼ cup (35g) plain flour 1½ tablespoons cocoa powder ¼ teaspoon baking powder 2 tablespoons caster sugar ¼ cup (60ml) milk 1½ tablespoons vegetable oil (suchas grapeseed) ½ x 53g Mars chocolate bar, choppedcoarsely1 Combine the dry ingredients in a large microwave-safe mug (1 1/3 cups/330ml capacity) and stir with a fork. 2 Stir in the milk and oil with the fork, then stir in the chocolate bar. 3 Place the mug on a microwave-safe plate. Microwave cake on HIGH (100%) for 1 minute 30 seconds. The cake should be slightly moist in the centre. If needed, microwave on HIGH for a further 20 seconds.
