The company has ripped 15,000 profiles from Twitter, allowing you to buy a token linked to a star and potentially cash in on their fame and influence. Virtual kicks When virtual shoe brand RTFKT Studios collaborated with crypto artist FEWOCiOUS, virtual pairs of sneakers sold out in seven minutes and generated US$3.1 million. Rumour has it more big brands and celebs want future collaborations. Fast-food tokens Taco Bell created 25 taco-themed images and animated GIFs as NFTs (or one-off digital tokens), and the lot sold in 30 minutes. All proceeds went to the Taco Bell Foundation’s scholarship program, restoring good sense to an otherwise crazy virtual-world sale.…
