After obtaining his TESL degree at a local university in 2010, Khalifa Affnan was posted to Keningau Vocational College (KVC) in Sabah, where he embarked on a fulfilling teaching career that eventually took him across international borders. What inspired you to get into jewellery design? Was there a specific moment or experience that sparked your interest? It started six years ago when I tried to look for some jewellery for myself. Back before Penang was inscribed as a Unesco Heritage site in 2008, conservation on the island was almost non-existent. Despite its rich history, the push to save or even maintain culturally valuable sites was not a priority.
