When it comes to the question of legacy, Cary Chan says that the green building industry—and Hong Kong in general—to the global fight against climate change

Dr Cary Chan has had a career that spans nearly 30 years, half of which of which has been spent as the executive director of the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC), a non-profit that has grown beyond its original mandate to transform Hong Kong’s built environment and promote more sustainable practices and standards within the industry. Now, as a world leader in sustainability, HKGBC’s impact has extended far beyond Hong Kong’s borders, setting the foundation—figuratively and literally—for the cities of the future.
