Dorchester Collection owns some of the most recognisable hotels with the most recognisable names in the world. On a visit to the brand’s newest property, The Lana in Dubai, Tatler speaks to CEO Helen Smith about future plans and what makes the hotels unique

April 2024 saw a hospitality brand viewed often seen as staunchly and traditionally British open an outpost in that most decadent, forward-looking of Middle Eastern cities, Dubai. Luxury hotel brand Dorchester Collection unveiled the 225-key The Lana in the city’s bustling Business Bay district, overlooking Marasi Bay Marina. Architects Foster & Partners created the building’s distinct look while French duo Gilles & Boissier created the interiors. The Dorchester Collection runs some of the most famous and classic venues in the world: the titular hotel in London, Plaza Athénée in Paris and the Bel-Air in Los Angeles are the stuff of legends.
