Nail art: the two words conjure images of ’80s-style neon graffiti on long talons, or the crystals and glitter favoured by 14-year-olds prepping for the school dance. But it doesn’t have to be that way. This season, the runways were awash with some seriously chic nail designs. Fresh colour combos—think pale pink and burgundy, orange and beige—as well as spikier shapes gave the tired French manicure a distinct edge, while perfect little dots placed dead centre or randomly scattered across nails spelled effortlessly offbeat. Elsewhere, cool metallic stripes and tonal chequerboards looked playful yet polished.
