What happens when architecture meets whisky? A partnership between Scottish distillery The Dalmore, Zaha Hadid Architects director Melodie Leung and the Victoria and Albert Museum Dundee had the answer. Tatler headed to Scotland to find out more

An amber-cast, glowing glass sculpture, resembling a swirling ripple, wraps around a prized whisky bottle. Perfected in a kiln for more than 12 weeks, and taking over 500 hours to polish, the sculpture is inspired by the motion of the spirit when it is served in a glass, as well as the curvy shape of the copper pot stills that are used to distil whisky. Inside the bottle is a single malt, with aromas of vanilla, dark berry fruit and cacao, hints of blackcurrant, Comice pear, soft spices and a sweet, subtly smoky finish, plus an inkling of freshly roasted chestnuts.
