Along with a precise sense of form, insatiable curiosity is an essential quality for a great photographer. Ben Marans is a respected photojournalist, but his free time is dedicated to street photography, into which he channels humanity, an instinct for a good story and a wry sense of humour. “I have spent countless hours criss-crossing the city, observing Hong Kong life and engaging with people willing to share a moment, a smile or a story,” he says.
