In his 20-plus years as a graphic designer and visual artist, Hung Man Po has loved including Hong Kong elements in his work: from the bauhinia that appeared on the new Hong Kong flag after the 1997 Handover and mythical elements such as dragons to social movements and imaginary cityscapes. Looking back on his portfolio to date, he says his favourite subject is the disappearing sights of the city. “With my art, I like to preserve the memory of the snacks I had as a child, such as coconut wraps and fried glutinous rice turnip cakes, which you rarely find nowadays.
