Hong Kong designer Austy Lee plays with themes of camp and kitsch in his ruby-encrusted earrings

Hong Kong jewellery designer Austy Lee is loved throughout the city for his avant-garde creations. Over his 20-year career, he has become the go-to guy for bold design, rich colour, exquisite craftsmanship and unique influences, drawing from culture, art and design. Buying an Austy Lee creation means investing in a piece of wearable art, with a rich, layered story woven into it. The latest example is The Camp & Kitsch Earrings, part of the designer’s The Dizygotican Collection. The earrings celebrate the concepts of camp and kitsch through playfully twisted swirls of 18-karat white gold, set with unheated Mozambican rubies and white diamonds.
