One of the big names speaking at the Tatler Gen.T Summit was Pico Iyer. Born in 1957 in Oxford, England to Indian immigrant parents—philosopher and political theorist Raghavan N Iyer and religious scholar Nandini Nanak Mehta—Siddharth Pico Raghavan Iyer was auspiciously named after the Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama, as well as Italian Renaissance philosopher Giovanni Pico della Mirandola. Today, Iyer is the bestselling author of two novels and more than a dozen works of non-fiction that have been translated into an impressive 23 languages. These include enduring favourites such as The Lady and the Monk (1991) and The Global Soul (2000). He can also lay claim to being personal friends with and biographer to the Dalai Lama.
