THE ACADEMY BALL

The stage of the Lyric Theatre at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) in Wan Chai was transformed to resemble a grand ballroom for the Academy Ball in December. A spiral staircase and gold light fixtures anchored the space, which looked like something out of The Great Gatsby. The decor fitted perfectly with the theme for the evening, “Art Deco Dance,” and complemented the glamorous 1930s-inspired looks put together by the likes of Wendy Law, Jane Louey and Olivia Croucher Buckingham. There was a wide range of magical musical and dance performances.
