ASIA ART ARCHIVE 15TH ANNIVERSARY GALA DINNER

Art aficionados and prominent members of Hong Kong society were ferried to the opulent dining hall at Jumbo Kingdom, the iconic floating restaurant in Aberdeen, for the annual gala dinner of the Asia Art Archive, which also marked the organisation’s 15th anniversary. Guests first mingled over cocktails and had the opportunity to preview a number of compelling artworks destined to go under the hammer later in the evening. Then they were seated for a delectable feast of traditional Cantonese cuisine. The live auction proved to be a highlight. The lots included a Liu Wei sculpture constructed from a collection of irregularly shaped mirrors, and Song Dong’s Fifteen Sheets of White Paper, which was donated to the archive for the occasion.
