Bordeaux real estate, a new Dom and a gathering of palates make James Suckling’s monthly news round-up

GREAT WINES of the World was a spectacular success, drawing 1,000 of Asia’s most sophisticated oenophiles and more than 50 of the world’s best vintners to the Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong for a celebration of great wines in one of the world’s greatest wine markets. More than 800 people attended the Grand Tasting on November 5, sipping 150 top vintages presented by renowned wineries, including Bordeaux first growths Lafite and Mouton, as well as Italy’s prestigious Sassicaia and Bruno Giacosa. Guests also enjoyed fine Champagnes from Billecart-Salmon. Members of the wine trade came from all over Asia for the event, organised by Hong Kong Tatler and JamesSuckling.com. Some treasured old vintages were included in the 800 bottles poured. More than 20,000 people visited the Great Wines of the World…
