DOUBLE THE PLAYFULNESS Two of Japan’s designers of the moment have joined forces to blend fashion and art. Kenzo’s artistic director Nigo tapped Verdy, the graphic designer behind Tokyo-based brand Girls Don’t Cry, to collaborate on his spring-summer 2024 collection. Known for his bold, playful designs and vibrant colours, and bringing influences from skateboarding, hip-hop and manga to his graphics, Verdy incorporated stylised versions of the maison’s motifs into a collection of varsity cardigans, dresses, denim and softly tailored pieces.
