Peter Woo takes us on a whirlwind tour of his latest passion project

Wharf Holdings supremo Peter Woo exuded an infectious enthusiasm when we got together for the cover shoot. He delighted in showing us around the Murray, the hotel he conceived and delivered in the landmark 1960s Murray Building, explaining the renovations and preservation efforts and Wharf’s vision for its future. The businessman, who was still recovering from a bad bout of bronchitis, was an excellent sport, modelling the clothes we had brought for him—Hermès, Brunello Cucinelli, Tod’s, Zegna and Loro Pianaalongside pieces from his own wardrobe, which included Armani and Salvatore Ferragamo. He moved tirelessly from location to location, even climbing onto ledges so photographer Callaghan Walsh could capture the best shots. We didn’t finish until after sunset, as Woo was keen for us to get some images of the hotel…
