To most of us, Sunday is for sleeping in and lazing about the house. For members of the Classic Car Club of Hong Kong, the so-called day of rest is anything but, writes Christopher DeWolf

It’s 7am when the cars pull up next to City Hall. About 30 drivers emerge from their vehicles and mill around, admiring each other’s wheels. “We’re going to be doing a scenic route,” announces Michael Wan, a car columnist and self-described petrolhead. “So no speeding and no crashes.” The drivers return to their cars and a low growl erupts into a roar as they rev their engines. Morning joggers stop to gawk. This is no ordinary Sunday drive. This is a chance for the owners of Hong Kong’s most impressive cars to strut their stuff.
