THE LATEST OPENING in Macau gives the city a new way to back a winner. Sabrina Ho, as director and CEO, launched Poly Auction Macau last month, a branch of the Chinese state-owned Poly Group that includes Poly Auction Hong Kong. Eye-catching lots on the block at its inaugural auction on January 10 included masterpieces by the late artists Chu Teh-Chun, Wu Guanzhong and Lin Fengmian alongside pieces by such contemporary artists as Takashi Murakami and Zhang Enli. To mark the occasion, Sabrina selected works from 60 post-1975 artists from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan to feature in 60 guest rooms she personally designed at the Regency Hotel Macau.
