The crisp October air was filled with the thwack of tennis balls and the roars of excited crowds, as the Rolex Shanghai Masters made its long-awaited return in October. This prestigious ATP Masters 1000 tournament had been on hiatus since 2019 due to the pandemic, but the wait was finally over. From October 4 to 15, some of the world’s top tennis stars converged on Shanghai’s breathtaking Qizhong Forest Sports City Arena, a stadium inspired by the magnolia, the city’s official flower. The Shanghai Masters has been called Asia’s premier tennis tournament, and with good reason.
