Chung Chung Lee, the co-founder of, and designer behind, fashion brand LIE discusses his growing success in South Korea and abroad

The global rise in Korean culture has been led by K-pop and K-dramas, but K-fashion is fast catching up. One designer dubbed the next big thing is Chung Chung Lee, co-founder and designer for the fashion brand LIE. Lee founded LIE, which stands for “Life is Expression”, with his sister, Nana Lee, in a bid to branch out from their parents’ legendary Korean fashion house, LIE Sangbong. Since its inception in 2011, LIE has grown from an up-and-coming label offering affordable luxury to a recognised name, with two free-standing stores in Korea and multiple pop-up shops across Asia. LIE presented its latest collection at London Fashion Week in September and headlined Seoul Fashion Week spring-summer 2022 in October.
