Soon-to-be cult accessories accompanied softly feminine ensembles for Raf Simons’ latest Christian Dior cruise collection

Surreal architecture once again united with high fashion for the now departed Raf Simons’ show at Pierre Cardin’s mad and magical residence, the Palais Bulles in Cannes. A plethora of prints was diplayed, from short, pleated plaid skirts to light knit tweed dresses in earthy colours and knitted swimsuits. Fur stoles were slung over bare shoulders, while beautifully proportioned trouser suits and long dresses catered to Dior’s more mature clientele. Accessories, however, were the stars of the show, with heavily chained bucket “bubble” bags and pointed, low ankle boots in rich brocade sure to become sell-out items of the season.
