OXFORD & CAMBRIDGE BALL

The biennial ball for Hong Kong’s Oxford and Cambridge Society proved to be a magical evening. With the theme A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Shakespearean references were prevalent throughout the night—guests donned flower crowns, professional actors gave brief performances at the start of each course and cocktails called Love Potions were served. Guests sipped a lovely English fizz from Chapel Down, then snacked on candy floss and popcorn at the end of the meal. The evening’s live auction was led by Jonathan Stone, Christie’s head of Asian Art. All proceeds went to benefit the society’s scholarship fund, which provides grants to worthwhile projects established by Oxford and Cambridge students around the world. Dancing kicked off straight after the live auction and dinner, and the dancefloor was packed until the wee hours…
