Three award-winning Hong Kong directors talk about the road to success and telling stories that matter

The last 12 months have been exciting for Hong Kong filmmakers, three of whom we spoke to. Oscar-nominated director Derek Tsang landed a Netflix deal to direct the first two episodes of 3 Body Problem, the hit sci-fi series that has garnered worldwide fandom since its release in March. Meanwhile, first-time directors Sasha Chuk and Nick Cheuk made their directorial debuts and saw their films recognised by Asia’s most prestigious awards.
