Is there such a thing as toxic fandom? YES “I do believe there is such a thing as a toxic fandom. I think this tends to happen whenever fans are overly attached to their idols. It’s a tough balance, because while a supportive community is beautiful, there are bound to be conflicts and differences, which can turn sour when not managed properly. I think any type of fanatical behaviour—whether bullying or trolling—is unhealthy. However, I also do think that it’s inevitable. Just like any bell curve, there will always be outliers to the majority.
